The Anzac Puppy

A fictional story based on true events during the Great War of 1914 -1918. The story, based in England, is about a young New Zealand soldier on his way to war. He befriended a puppy and named her Freda, and she became the official mascot of the NZ Rifle Brigade. This book has been published for the 100th World War One anniversary. In the back pages you can read about the true events that inspired the picture book, and some fascinating facts… like you can see the real Freda’s collar in the Army Museum at Waiouru, New Zealand..
